SUMMARY
 
Manages, under limited supervision, the sales/gross profit and development activities of the Company through a team of Business Developers. The key objective is to bring to market, in a timely and cost effective manner, quality service and unique solutions to market demands. The ultimate objective is to expand market share, increase profitability and achieve a superior return on investment for the Corporation.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to attain Branch sales goals for the Company by territory, by customer and by Sales Representative.

2. Meet with key clients and assist sales representatives in maintaining key account relationships while negotiating and closing difficult deals.

3. Develop and direct sales budgeting and forecasting activities, and in conjunction with the Vice President and General Manager, participate in setting sales performance goals for the Company and individual representatives.

4. Manage sales, prospecting, and meet with prospective and existing clients and distributors delivering sales presentations when required on services and assisting in negotiating sales contracts and closing difficult deals.

5. Manages sales targets and develop strategies to address short falls as needed.

6. Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements and addresses variances to budget.

7. Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition and develops and implements appropriate strategies to promote divisional value added programs.

8. Prospects the market through various lead generation methods, in order to enhance existing sales volumes with existing client and expanding the existing client base

9. Monitor monthly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion providing individual performance improvement discussion with sales representatives where the numbers warrant .

10. Participate as an active and contributing member of the Management team.

11. Communicate with Principals to grow sales and reports sales activities.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and approves discount rates.
• Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
• Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
• Monitor and directs the activities and performance of sales managers
• Provides approved customer price schedules to Sales Managers to ensure sales order entry system is updated
• Approves assigned sales territory to sales representatives as set out by Sales Manager
• Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
• Represents Company at trade association meetings, conferences and counter days to promote services.
• Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units (Customer Service, Finance) to resolve customer related issues.

AUTHORITY

• Interview, hire and train Sales under recruitment policies established for the Company.
• Plan, assign, and oversee work within the sales division.
• Appraise all direct reports performance and recommend appropriate rewards and compensation within corporate guidelines
• Address employee complaints and resolve problems when escalated to VP level.
• Approve and recommend Sales division policies when necessary.
• Review and authorize purchases of expense items within limits defined by corporate policy
• Initiate, follow through and resolve all matters pertaining to the successful operation of the Sales division under the general direction of the Vice President and General Manager.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns and/or complaints escalated to Management level as appropriate.
• Represent the Company at dealer symposiums, conferences and trade shows
• Negotiate and approve sales contracts under the direction of the Vice President and General Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for sales, and is assigned to oversee all sales staff for the company. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) preferred from a recognized university; with a minimum of five years related sales and marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience within a high volume environment.
• Third party logistics and brokerage experience is a must.
• Sound knowledge of logistics and transportation industry.
• Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), customer service and leadership skills.
• Previous Sales Supervisory and/or Management experience
• Strong technical aptitude
