JOB STATEMENT

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for using discretionary authority to ensure the transportation of freight  on behalf of Kelron customers is handled efficiently, profiably without loss or damge while upholding Kelron's best in class customer service levels. The daily activities of the Logistics Coordinator are in response to customer demands, thus planning is often short-term and urgent in nature. This role requires a strong understanding of freight rates and rating methods, experience in negotiating rates with both carriers and customers along with knowledge of geography and transportation methods. Knowledge of Intra-US, Intra-Canadian combined with a strong cross border common carrier base knowledge is considered a strong asset. Knowledge of specialised equipment such as Flat Deck operations is also beneficial to this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION

•  Provide and support all service requirements and needs of all assigned Kelron Clients by meeting an exceeding their expectations and Kelron's peformance Levels
• Negotiate pricing and problem solves vendor specific issues.
• Track, record and follow up on detailed information regarding vendor capabilities and customer requirements.
• Collaborate and offers assistance to other team members in delivering optimal transportation service solutions.
• Resolve any service failures and communicates them to the Team Supervisor.
• Set up and confirm all carriers in accordance with Kelron's premium high tech compliance programs.
• Research pricing for new and existing clients.
• Ability to work in Multi-modal operations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and displays a professional demeanor.
• Highly technical; must be able to operate in a Windows (Excel, Outlook etc.) based environment at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Dedicated, detail oriented team player.
• Above average problem solving skills.
• Results oriented.
• Ability to effectively multitask in a fast paced high pressure environment.
• The ability to effectively negotiate and communicate issues in a clear concise manner.
• North American and Multi-modal experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• College and/or University Diploma
• 5+ year's industry experience working in a 3PL environment on dedicated accounts.
• Negotiation training is considered an asset for this position.
